Welcome

Welcome to the Albury Wodonga Orienteering Club. The aim of the club is to provide an opportunity for members of all ages to compete in the growing sport of orienteering.

Coming Events

Street and Park O Events Summer 2011/2012

Summer time has arrived and we are holding our usual Street O events in Albury Wodong. They are ideally suited to beginners and experienced members alike and can be done in family groups, with friends or individually. If you would prefer not to run, most events can be done using a mountain bike. There will be several courses at each event to suit all standards. Just the ideal after-work event to wind down for the evening, have some fun and get fit at the same time.

Events start times are between 5:30pm to 6:00pm. Cost: $3 per map. Walk, run or cycle. Courses close at 7pm.

* 7 March Biralee, Silva Drive Wodonga.

* 14 March QEII Square, Albury.

* 21 March Gateway Island, Wodonga.

Membership

Hello all and welcome to the new orienteering year. Just a reminder that AWOC memberships for 2011 are now due. This year we will try to make it easier to renew your subs by offering payment by direct deposit to Club's Hume Building Society account. BSB No: 640000 Account No: 368114510 (or 368114s10 if you bank with Hume) include your name with "M'ship" in the reference field. If you opt to renew via internet banking you can simply type in your details on the attached renewal form and email it back to me - normmccann at optusnet.com.au . If you renew via an in branch direct deposit or via cheque/cash payment then please post your completed renewal to PO Box 461 Albury NSW 2640. A club membership form can be downloaded here. Don’t forget to renew early to ensure that you receive all the club information including newsletters.

Compete Safely!

Participants, particularly novice members should read the details of how to prepare and compete in orienteering events. Beginners will benefit by reading http://www.orienteering.asn.au/newcomers/ .

Committee Meetings

If you feel that you want to have a say in the running of the club, ordinary members are entitled and welcome to come along to the AWOC Committee meetings. These take place on the second Tuesday of each month from 8pm at various venues. Feel free to come along and have your input into the running of our club.
